Principal's Message

When a baby is born in this world, the first touch the baby gets is that of a nurse. Nurse with a hand that nurtures, Nurse with a hand that heals.

Nursing encompasses autonomous and collaborative care of individuals, families, groups and communities sick or well during all ages. Every aspect of health related sphere is included whether it is promotion of health, prevention of illness or care of sick, disabled or dying.

Nursing is a noble and blessed profession where opportunities to serve others come knocking at the doors every day. By sincere caring, a patient may forget your name, but will never forget how you made him feel during his sickness. Nurses are no more doctor’s assistants. Rather they are equally responsible and stake holders in patients treatment. The professional nurse provides holistic care with compassion, empathy and respect to clients. More of them are becoming independent nurse practitioners and Super specialists in their field. Nowadays, the scope for a nurse is varied and limitless. She may choose between education, research, clinical practice, management, administration, occupational, industrial or school health nursing.

We at Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt strive to be the best among Nursing Colleges not only in the region but nationally too by providing quality education and ensuring overall development of the students so that they face the challenges of highly competitive health care world. ACNites are constantly striding ahead to rewrite the stories of excellence with patience, perservances and perspiration.

We are proud of 121 students who are serving in Military Nursing Service. Another 4 students have joined Armed Forces as Lady Officers. Many of the students are our ambassadors in US, Canada and many other foreign countries. In corporate sector too the students are placed very well. The placement statistics is 100% every year.

This all have been achieved by providing a supportive and stimulative learning environment using innovative teaching/learning strategies and technological advances with the support of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), HQ Western Command and HQ 11 Corps.

We would always love to follow the path of purity, justice, goodness and love of God, where there is no division in the name of caste. Creed, religion or language.

    Jai Hind
